Adventure Van Travels – Middle Fork Campground and Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument

The weather was cool, sunny and amazing when we woke up in Middle Fork Campground in Bighorn National Forest.     Once we packed up, we had only an hour or so drive to Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument. Aubrey is a history buff, and her dad is especially interested in this period of history, so we took our time here, watching the park movie, attending a ranger talk, walking the interpretive paths and taking the major sites drive.

The National Park Service does such a great job sharing both sides of a complicated and tragic battle. We especially loved seeing horses and a foal during the drive. The girls all earned Junior Ranger badges too.
We are now at the Billings KOA which is the world’s first KOA (that’s pretty cool!) and we are picking up Sophie and Ryan tonight from the airport. We all are looking forward to seeing them!

Heading to Yellowstone in the morning and none of us can wait!
