Adventure Van Travels – Pinnacles National Park

Internet access is very spotty in the region we are now traveling, so posts may be irregular but I will do my best!

We arrived in Pinnacles National Park yesterday and while the drive had much more traffic than I anticipated, it was a very beautiful route.   The campground here is beautiful, with spacious and wooded sites. The shade is welcome during the day when the temperature soars. But when the sun sets, it was nice and chilly and perfect sleeping weather.    We spent the morning hiking the Condor Gulch Trail with beautiful views of the namesake Pinnacles. Our plan had been to hike the High Peaks trail, but Maya over did it on the way up and was too overheated to continue so we quickly headed back down the trail. Like I said, it is HOT here during the day!

We did see a California condor flying overhead which was awesome. They are huge birds and inpressive to see. Since we had some extra time, we decided to cool off in the pool at the campground which was heavenly in the heat! Pinnacles is our newest National Park, and this small beautiful park is a wonderful addition.  And now we are going to get ready for our drive to Sequoia in the morning. I’ve never been to Sequoia and can’t  wait to see those giant trees!
