Adventure Van Travels – “Camping” in the Walmart Parking Lot

Last night was a first for us, we camped at the Walmart in Salmon Arm, British Columbia. And it wasn’t too bad! I had read that Walmarts allow overnight parking, but had yet to try it out. Finding all the campgrounds off the highway full, we were getting a little anxious, so when we came upon a Walmart with lots of RVs and campers parked in the corner, we decided to stay. Free, convenient and we felt safe. What more can you ask for? And early morning coffee and doughnuts from Tim Hortons was an added bonus. adventure vanadventure vanadventure vanadventure vanadventure vanCamping at the Walmart was a success and in a pinch is awesome.  But we are glad to be moving on to a real site in Jasper National Park for the next few nights!

Thanks so much. I am traveling with my boys this summer in a camper. I was wondering about the safety of the Walmart Parking lot. Although not beautiful surroundings sound like it was very functional!!
