Adventure Van Travels – Rained Out in Utah

After leaving Grand Teton National Park, we headed to Falls Campground in Idaho’s Targhee National Forest where we planned to do some hiking and spend the night.   The drive was beautiful, and we practically had the campground to ourselves, but cloudy skies and severe thunderstorms in the forecast convinced us to hit the road and head to Utah.        Not having a destination in mind, we decided to stop for the night at Willard Bay State Park just north of Salt Lake City. And ironically, we were just cooking dinner and settling in when a crazy thunderstorm sped across the bay. We ended up cooking our dinner in the bathroom to get out of the wind and rain. You do what you have to do, right?    So now we are holed up in the van, reading and playing cards, waiting for the storm to pass.   Just another day’s adventure and we are all still smiling. 🙂
