Adventure Van Travels- Kootenay National Park and Radium Hot Springs

Sophie and I stayed up LATE our last night at Two Jacks, nestled in our sleeping bags to stargaze and falling asleep by the lake. And what a night sky we saw! The Milky Way is bright and stars fill the whole sky. Simply unbelievable. Leaving Banff was bittersweet. The town is fun, the mountains are beautiful, the people are friendly and there is so much to do. I’m already planning when I can visit again with Dave. So we were sad to be leaving, but excited to see Radium Hot Springs in Kootenay National Park.adventure vanadventure vanBordering Banff, Kootenay sits along the western border of the continental divide in British Columbia, while Banff sits in the Eastern side in Alberta. The drive between the two is scenic and absolutely beautiful. And there were hardly any crowds compared to bustling Banff. Before we knew it, we arrived at Radium Hot Springs where we were going for a swim in the mineral pools. And I was happily surprised by the prices for a visit too! There is both a hot and cool pool at Radium Hot Springs. I stuck to just the hot pool, but Maya and Garrett jumped into both. We spent a couple of hours relaxing by the pools which was so much fun. A dragonfly kept me company while I soaked in the shallow end and read my book.adventure van adventure vanadventure vanadventure vanSince we have a long drive to Glacier in Montana, we finally pulled ourselves away from the water, showered off the mineral salts, and hit the road. U.S.A. – here we come!
